Q: What ingredients do you use in your Tallow?I only use all-natural ingredients. Organic flowers to add scent add benefits: organic calendula, organic rose petals, organic hibiscus flowers and organic lavender flowers. All four of these flowers have incredible benefits for the skin. A well-known benefit of calendula is its ability to help reduce irritation, particularly for those with already sensitive skin. Calendula’s skin-soothing benefits can likely be attributed to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to limit trans-epidermal water loss, which in turn strengthens the skin’s defences against potential irritants. It has been shown to reduce both the visible symptoms and feel of skin irritation and discomfort. Rose petals are rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, they also can contribute to healthier, more radiant skin and may help reduce the signs of aging. Hibiscus has many of the same benefits as the other two flowers, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe irritated and inflamed skin, making it a good choice for sensitive skin types. Lastly, lavender's antibacterial properties may help prevent and heal acne by killing bacteria that contribute to breakouts and unclogging pores as well as reducing the appearance of scars by promoting tissue regeneration and reducing inflammation. Castor oil: The main chemical composition of castor oil is ricinoleic acid, a potent fatty acid that can moisturize and protect your skin barrier. Researchers found that castor oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It can help to decrease pimples, soften skin, and reduce the appearance of large pores. Additional benefits of using castor oil on your skin may include: Preventing wrinkles: Castor oil contains antioxidants that fight free radicals in your body. Free radicals are responsible for accelerating the aging process, making wrinkles appear sooner. Fighting acne: Castor oil has antibacterial properties. Bacteria on your face can clog pores and lead to acne. Reducing puffiness: Castor oil has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce swelling and puffiness. It could also reduce the size of inflamed pimples or eye bags. Moisturizing: Moisture keeps your skin looking young and shiny. Moisture also prevents wrinkles. Soothing sunburn: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, castor oil may ease the pain associated with sunburn. Its moisturizing qualities may also reduce peeling. Fighting dry lips: Castor oil is a very common ingredient in both lipstick and lip gloss. If you have dry lips, skip the colour and use castor oil. Promoting overall skin health: Castor oil is full of healthy fatty acids, which are essential to maintaining good skin health. Manuka Honey: Naturally antibacterial; it can help prevent certain types of breakouts because of its antifungal properties. Honey contains trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide, which is particularly helpful when it comes to resolving pesky post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation. Honey draws moisture into the skin from the air. Applying honey on the face is a great way to keep your skin hydrated, glowing, fresh, and supple at all times. Research has shown that Manuka honey can treat seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. The main medical use for Manuka honey is for wound and burn healing. Siberian Sea Buckthorn Oil: Sea buckthorn oil has been used for thousands of years as a natural remedy for various ailments. It is extracted from the berries, leaves, and seeds of the sea buckthorn plant (Hippophae rhamnoides), which is a small shrub that grows at high altitudes in the northwest Himalayan region. You can apply it to your skin or take it orally. Sometimes referred to as the holy fruit of the Himalayas, it’s a popular remedy in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicines. It’s said to provide health benefits ranging from more radiant hair and skin to a lower risk of cancer and heart disease.
